We have confirmed a reported issue with certain Autocall TrueAlert ES Addressable Notification Appliances, where they may not alarm visually and/or with sound after a period of regular operation of 11 months or longer. Some but not all Impacted Notification Appliances with speakers may then “chirp” (Tap Sense). Appliances with manufacturing date codes from 21 019 (Jan-19-2021) through 22 230 (Aug-18-2022) for xenon strobes and from 21 231 (Aug-19-2021) through 22 230 (Aug-18-2022) for LED strobes are impacted. Note – Speaker Only Appliances are not impacted.
The resolution will require the installation of a special version of EPS/IDNAC slave software for each EPS/IDNAC programmed in the system. The software will report a trouble for appliances which have failed. The Field Checkout and Repair Instructions will guide the technician through the process to verify whether appliances are working correctly or require replacement. Once completed, the system will be tested to conform to code requirements.
Note: Firmware version 2.01.02 or newer is required to remediate the IDNAC issue. Version 2.01.03 has been released and provides enhancements to the Self-Test feature but is not required to remediate the IDNAC issue. If a system has already been updated to version 2.01.02, it is not necessary to update to version 2.01.03 until the next normal service.
